10 hours of English per week

10 hours of English

Our classes focus on all English language skills and teaching students about British life and culture so students will get a better understanding of the UK whilst becoming better English speakers. Every class is based around a topic and theme linked to British life and culture, so students use the English language in everyday, true to life situations. Students are divided into classes by age (8-11, 12-14 and 15-17 year olds) and level so that children can mix with others of a similar age and language ability. Students can learn about British music, the Royal Family, famous places in the UK while becoming better English language speakers. At the end of each week student’s give a presentation showing off what they have learned from their lessons. This final project is worked on with their teacher and encourages the students to think creatively and put into active use everything they have learned. The final presentation provides a goal for every student and encourages each learner to focus on things they care about and are inspired by whilst activating all their English language skills. All students receive a certificate and an individual learning outcomes report written by their teacher at the end of their course.

5 hours of Virtual Excursions per week

5 hours of excursons

After each lesson your child will enjoy an activity or virtual excursion all designed to get children enjoying themselves whilst using their learned English. There are lots of activities for students to socialise and learn with each other including virtual excursions so students can see and learn about London and the UK. These excursions are often linked to the days lesson topic. Activities include karaoke, Great British quizzes, talent shows and taskmaster challenges. Using the English language in these fun and engaging sessions helps each learner to really use and remember everything they have been taught. Students get the chance to see famous places in the UK and interact with their teacher and classmates using English all the time and so becoming a better English language speaker at the same time as having fun in their virtual classroom.

How are the lessons taught?

All of our online lessons are taught live online. Students are able to interact in real time with their teacher and classmates, they are not simply watching recorded lectures. Studying live and online means that our teachers can guide and support each student and focus on any areas they are finding difficult or need extra support with, so that they can achieve their goals quickly. We always use the communicative approach which means we get every student speaking and using the language they are learning.

Are the online lessons taught by qualified teachers?

All Greenwich International Education teachers are professionally qualified to teach the English as a foreign language. you are studying. All teachers have the CELTA (or equivalent) from the University of Cambridge, and some of them may also be teacher trainers or have further professional qualifications, such as the DELTA Diploma. All our online teachers have also been trained by our Academic Director in our approach and how to get the very best out of online classes.
