Activity Leaders

We are looking for enthusiastic and confident people to be part of a team that will not only run and organise activities for our international students, but also be responsible for their safeguarding and welfare. 


Previous experience is not a pre-requisite, you will receive training in all elements of the role including the safeguarding of juniors. The main part duty is organising and running activities for students, after they have finished their English lessons. These activities can range from a multi-sports day to talent shows and more. You will also take the groups on a number of pre-arranged excursions linked to our academic syllabus, which focuses on British life and culture. These excursions are either in the same city as your campus or may involve a coach trip somewhere else. The role also incorporates pastoral care of students while they are with us.  


We work in several locations, typically university campuses, around the UK. The position is residential and we provide you with full-board accommodation throughout your time with us. 


We very much believe in retaining staff year on year and offer a bonus to anyone who returns to work for GIE the following year or years.

Activity Managers

The Activity Manager in the person responsible for the delivery of the activity programme on campus. This can be anything from an on-site sports activity, to a full day excursion to another city. The social programme on any summer camp forms a crucial part of the students experience, as it is here that they will form some of their best memories. You are responsible for your team of Activity Leaders who will deliver this programme. We provide you with a wealth of resources to run these programmes. 


The position is residential and we provide you with full-board accommodation throughout your time with us.

Centre Managers

We are looking for experienced Centre Managers to run our summer camps in the UK. This role is for someone who can manage teams in a fast paced, often continuously changing, environment. You need to be highly organised, resourceful and approachable. Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are key. You will have your own management team, which includes a Director of Studies, who in turn manages their academic team, an Activity Manager and a Student Welfare Officer. Alongside this is a team of Activity Leaders who deliver the activity programme.

Student Welfare Officers

As the title suggests, the key duties to this role is the welfare of our students while they are with us. Empathy, approachability, and a can-do attitude are key attributes for this position. You will receive extensive safeguarding training and will be introduced to all students as the first point of contact, should they have any welfare issues. The position is also about identifying issues before they may become more serious. Previous experience in a similar role would be very beneficial but not essential. We are looking for people with a specific skillset, as detailed in the job description.

Administration Officers

The Administration Officer Centre is responsible for organising and managing all the administrative records in the centre. These range from academic items such as student lists, registers, outcome reports and certificates to items with the activity team like activity registers, staff time sheets. It will also include assisting the centre manager with rooming lists, incident reports and keeping financial records up to date.
